What is Pilates?
The Pilates method was created by Joseph H. Pilates and is now widely practiced. The connection of body, mind and spirit was Pilates' vision from the beginning.
More specifically, it is a system of exercises that aim to strengthen the body with an emphasis on our core or Powerhouse.
With a strong Powerhouse, the spine is aligned, we find balance and flexibility, while the muscles acquire alignment without unnecessary volume. Thus, it has been established as the most appropriate training method for musculoskeletal diseases caused by incorrect posture.
Pilates is suitable for all genders, ages and levels, as it can be completely adapted to the practitioner.

The basic principles of Pilates
Self-concentration : Focusing the mind on what the body is doing.
Control : Mind-body combination that ensures that movements cease to be mechanical or random, and thus we are not at risk of injury
Center : All energy in the exercises comes from a strong center and feeds the rest of the body.
Breathing : Proper breathing is the fuel the body needs to perform the exercise properly, while at the same time eliminating stress.
Alignment : Awareness of where all body parts are in relation to space.
Flow : Movements are done slowly, harmoniously and with a continuous flow.
Accuracy : The quality of the exercise execution is much more important than the number of repetitions.
